## Summary

The University of St Andrews recently completed a procurement process for pest control services for its Estates, Residential, and Catering Services, under an open procedure. This contract, titled "Residential & Business Services: Pest Control," falls under the services category and relates to educational institutions. The procurement covered services at the University's estate in St Andrews, located in region UKM72, and involved preventative and reactive pest control solutions. The contract was awarded on 21st May 2025 to Graham Pest Control, a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) based in Blairgowrie, with a total contract value of £1,740 GBP. The process initially began as a tender early in February 2025, with the tender closing on 1st April 2025. The procedure was managed electronically via the InTend platform, ensuring accessibility for interested parties.

This procurement provides substantial opportunities for businesses, particularly those specializing in pest control services within the education sector. Companies that are well-suited to compete in similar procurement processes would typically be SMEs with the capability to provide comprehensive pest control services that meet rigorous licencing and quality standards, ideally holding memberships with professional bodies such as the British Pest Control Association or the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA). The establishment of a framework agreement, as outlined, suggests future opportunities may arise approximately four months before existing contracts expire, enabling firms to plan and prepare competitive bids for recurring contracts.
