## Summary

The procurement process for the "DC-Electronic Counting for Scottish Local Government Elections 2027" was conducted by the Scottish Government. This contract focuses on providing electronic counting services for the 2027 elections and subsequent by-elections up to 2032. With the central office based in Glasgow, the procurement was carried out through an open procedure and has now reached the award stage. Key dates include the signing of the contract on 19th September 2025, with the elections scheduled for 6th May 2027 and the count expected on 7th May 2027. The electronic counting services fall under the "services" category (CPV: 72140000), with CGI IT UK LIMITED, a large company located in London, being awarded the contract valued at £12,750,000 GBP.

This tender offers growth opportunities primarily for businesses specialising in electronic counting technology and associated services, including software and logistics for large-scale public events. The requirements for subcontracting provide a window for smaller enterprises, especially those involved in software management, hardware logistics, and training. The contract also outlines commitments to Fair Work Practices and sustainable benefits, such as offering internships and engaging local SMEs, which could benefit companies focused on social and economic initiatives. Additionally, businesses with a focus on information security management standards and those holding Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation are particularly suitable for such government tenders.
