## Summary

The National Trust for Scotland has initiated the tender process for project management services under the title "Mackintosh Illuminated - Project Manager Services." This procurement falls within the conservation and heritage industry category and is located in Edinburgh, UK. The procurement aims to develop the Mackintosh Illuminated Project, focusing on raising awareness and appreciation of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret MacDonald’s work. Key deadlines include the tender submission period ending on 28th April 2025 at 12:00 PM, followed by the award period commencing at 1:00 PM on the same day. The procurement method is an open procedure with electronic submission methods via the Public Contracts Scotland portal.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses experienced in project management, particularly those with expertise in conservation, heritage, and construction. Companies with proficiency in coordinating complex projects, engaging diverse communities, and managing volunteer programmes would be well-suited to compete. The project provides significant growth potential by associating with well-regarded cultural assets and contributing to high-profile conservation efforts. The successful tenderer will oversee the repair and construction activities at the Hill House in Helensburgh and provide independent oversight at the Mackintosh at the Willow Tea Room in Glasgow City Centre, broadening their portfolio and increasing visibility in the heritage sector.

## Notice

The scope of the Project Management Service includes Contract Administration to inform and assist our development of the Mackintosh Illuminated Project. The Project covers 2 physical sites (only one of which will be the subject of major construction works) and one overarching aim - to raise awareness and appreciation of the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife Margaret MacDonald, through research, exhibition, publication, digital media and other means of dissemination of knowledge and information. Engaging a diverse public, communities and stakeholders and working on skills training and volunteer programmes will also feature heavily in the project ambitions. The majority of the Project Manager's role will be to oversee, co-ordinate and report on the safe, timeous, compliant and efficient operation of the repair, conservation and construction project at the Hill House in Helensburgh; a secondary but aligned task will be to provide an independent overview of the wider engagement and outreach aspects of the project which also includes the Mackintosh at the Willow Tea Room in Glasgow City Centre. Both properties are in Trust ownership and the main elements of a new initiative to bring focus to the works of both Mackintosh and Macdonald.
