## Summary

The University of Edinburgh has concluded the procurement process for the maintenance and reactive work on Air Cooled Chillers and Close Control Units (CCUs) across its campuses, spanning from 1st February 2026 to 31st January 2029, with potential extensions till 2031. Conducted using a selective Restricted Procedure, this tender is within the education sector and is split into two lots: Lot 1 for Air Cooled Chillers and Lot 2 for CCUs. Contracts have been awarded to Lovat's Group Ltd and Celsius Cooling Ltd for Lot 1 and Lot 2, respectively, with an estimated contract value of £1,250,000. Key aspects like technical quality (weighted at 70%) and pricing (weighted at 30%) were considered in the evaluation process.

This tender opportunity opens avenues for businesses specializing in technical maintenance and service delivery within institutional facilities to participate in similar future procurements, particularly those geared towards educational establishments. Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a strong track record in technical maintenance services can leverage such contracts for sustained business growth. Participation requires a proven ability to handle complex estates and a commitment to high standards in service quality and environmental management. Such tenders offer insight into the procedural dynamics of university-led projects, fostering collaboration across sectors capable of meeting stringent technical and financial criteria.

EC1047 Air Cooled Chillers and Close Control Units Maintenance & Reactive Work - The University of Edinburgh will shortly be going out to tender via a Restricted Procedure to engage two suitably qualified, resourced, and experienced organisations to provide maintenance services and reactive works for Air Cooled Chillers and Close Control Units (CCUs) that are spread throughout the University's Estate. This contract shall be split into two lots as follows: Lot 1: Air Cooled Chillers; and Lot 2: Close Control Units (CCUs). Bidders can choose to bid for either one or both Lots. Where a bidder opts to bid for both Lots, they will need to state their preference between Lot 1 and Lot 2. The top scoring bidder will be appointed to each Lot, however, UoE will not appoint the same bidder to both Lot 1 and Lot 2. Should the same bidder top score for both Lot 1 and Lot 2, they will be appointed to their preferred Lot. For the other remaining Lot (the top scoring bidder's non-preferred Lot), the second-ranked Bidder will be appointed. It is anticipated that the contract will be in place for an initial period of 3 years, with two options to extend for periods of 1-year each (3+1+1).
