Lot 1

The requirement is to carry out an optioneering study on Strathcarron Bridge in order to inform recommendations for replacement or strengthening of the bridge. The service must include flood modelling to inform proposed options for the replacement of the bridge and possible raising of the approach roads. The supplier must identify sources of flooding and define a suitable model. Structural calculations are also required to determine if the existing structure is capable of carrying normal traffic loads as per CS 454. If it is found that the structure is unable to carry normal traffic loads, the bidder must identify the requirements for strengthening of the structure in order to carry the full loads.
