## Summary

APUC Limited, a central purchasing body based in Stirling, undertook a public procurement process seeking contractors for the supply and delivery of fresh fish and seafood to higher and further education institutions in Scotland as well as the Glasgow City Council. This contract, under the industry category of goods, covers locations like North Highland and Western Isles, Aberdeen and Grampians, Perth, Angus, Dundee and Fife, South-East Scotland, and the West of Scotland. The procurement process was carried out using an open procedure, ensuring transparency and competitive bidding. The tender stage concluded with the award notice on 15 August 2025, with contracts actively signed on 7 August 2025. The call for tender had initially been extended, pushing the submission closure to 16 June 2025, highlighting flexibility for potential bidders.

This tender presents multiple opportunities for business growth, especially for suppliers in the seafood market aiming to distribute to educational institutions. Companies with the ability to offer competitive pricing and fulfil a wide range of seafood products will find this procurement particularly advantageous, given the emphasis on price normalisation across the lots. Suitable contenders might include large-scale operations and SMEs that can demonstrate qualifications such as supply chain sustainability, adherence to ethical standards, and capacity to meet the product requirements dictated by seasonal availability. With these contracts, businesses can gain significant market exposure, contributing to steady growth and the potential for extended collaboration with the Scottish education sector.
