## Summary

The Scottish Government, based in Glasgow, is leading a procurement process focusing on a "Portfolio of Compensatory Measures for Seabirds." This initiative falls under the services industry category, with a procurement method detailed as 'Open procedure.' The procurement is currently at the contract update and award update stages, and spans several locations in the UK, especially within the UKM region. The main aspects of this contract include predator control, habitat restoration, and fisheries management supporting measures. Initial contract dates began in August 2025, with options for extension into 2026, specifically up to 9th August for some lots. The overarching legal framework guiding this procurement is aligned with EU directive 2014/24/EU (CELEX).

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses with expertise in environmental services, particularly those capable of delivering robust seabird conservation and marine habitat restoration solutions. Large-scale enterprises like NIRAS Group (UK) Ltd, ABPmer, and APEM have been associated with this project, reflecting the complex and expansive nature of the work involved. Firms with competencies in technical and ecological solutions, marine biosecurity, fisheries management, and waste reduction will be well-positioned to leverage these opportunities to scale their operations and participate in Scotland's environmental enhancement initiatives. The project's focus on sustainability and community benefits provides an additional incentive for businesses aiming to contribute positively to the Scottish ecosystem and economy.
