## Summary

The procurement process for the "Supply and Delivery of Heavy and Municipal Vehicles" is being managed by Scotland Excel, a central purchasing body representing all 32 Scottish councils and associated members. The initiative is currently in the planning stage, with a Prior Information Notice (PIN) detailing plans to re-establish a framework for acquiring diverse vehicle types. This framework aims to cater to a variety of needs, including refuse collection, winter maintenance, and road sweeping across Scotland. Key dates include a future notice date set for 18 August 2025, and opportunities to engage with the organisation are available, with an invitation for supplier meetings scheduled from 9 June 2025. Interested parties are encouraged to reach out by 4 June 2025. The procurement category is classified under general public services, with an estimated contract value of £80,000,000.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in the vehicle manufacturing and supply industry to expand their market presence by delivering heavy and municipal vehicles to a wide range of public authorities within Scotland. Companies with expertise in producing alternative fuelled vehicles, such as electric, hydrogen, or hybrid models, stand to benefit greatly. Additionally, businesses offering specialist vehicle modification services or those capable of providing lease quotations and buy-back options could find valuable growth prospects within this framework. The tender encourages participation from businesses capable of supporting sustainable and innovative transport solutions, aligning with Scotland's environmental and operational goals.
