## Summary

The Scottish Prison Service, based in Edinburgh, has completed the procurement process for the maintenance of Fogex Watermist Systems across its various establishments. The contract, titled "SPS-01661A Maintenance of Watermist Systems-Fogex," falls under the public order and safety industry category. The contract encompasses services within the UKM region, specifically for HMP Perth, HMP Glenochil, HMP Edinburgh, HMP&YOI Polmont, and HMP Shotts. This initiative, signed on 9th May 2025 and currently active, was awarded through a limited procurement method, justified by the exclusive servicing agreement for these systems with Protec Camerfield Ltd. The intended contract duration is three years with the possibility of a three-year extension.

This contract represents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for large-scale enterprises capable of delivering specialised maintenance services under exclusive supply agreements. Companies dealing with public safety and fire prevention systems, especially those proficient in reactive and planned maintenance, inspection, and compliance certification aligned with British Standards, would be well-placed to tender for similar opportunities. The expertise required to manage the proprietary components and spare part replacements of the Fogex systems underscores the necessity for technical proficiency and authorised supplier status in this niche domain.
