## Summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council has initiated an open procurement process for its "Kerside & Recycling Centre Waste Streams" project, targeting the general public services industry category. The process, currently at the tender stage, seeks licensed service providers for handling and processing various waste streams as per the waste hierarchy standards. The project involves 20 separate lots across locations such as Annan, Stranraer, Dumfries, and Castle Douglas in the UKM92 region. Key deadlines include a tender submission end date of 2nd July 2025, followed by the award period start on the same day. Karen Mclachlan serves as the procurement contact point for this initiative, offering business opportunities through an electronic submission method.

This tender offers diverse opportunities for waste management firms, recycling centres, and environmental service providers to expand their business, given its extensive scope covering various recyclable materials like fibres, metals, and oils. Profitable for companies specialising in environmental compliance and resource recovery, the contract is distributed across manageable lots, allowing bidders the flexibility to compete for one or multiple lots without incurring penalties. Moreover, the potential to extend the initial three-year contract by a further year presents a stable growth prospect for suitable businesses capable of providing high-quality service at competitive pricing.
