## Summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has completed a procurement contract for the maintenance of the Pneumatic Tube System at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The contract, focusing on the health services industry (CPV codes 50000000, 71300000), was awarded to SWL Healthcare Limited through a limited procurement method, as they are the only company capable of maintaining the existing Swisslog Pneumatic Tube System. A Voluntary Ex Ante Transparency (VEAT) notice was published to ensure compliance with procurement regulations and mitigate risks of ineffectiveness challenges. The contract, with a value of approximately £1,094,802, was signed on 20 June 2025 and is set to remain in place until 30 June 2030 at the hospital located in Glasgow, denoted by the region code UKM82.

This tender offers significant opportunities for companies specialising in niche healthcare technology services and equipment maintenance, particularly those with expertise in pneumatic tube systems and Swisslog technology. Although SWL Healthcare Limited was the sole supplier for this contract, other businesses that can develop unique competencies or innovations in maintaining hospital technology systems may find pathways to growth in similar future procurements within the NHS network. The specific focus on continuity and service reliability in a healthcare environment underlines the importance of building strong capabilities and relationships to effectively compete in this sector.
