## Summary

East Dunbartonshire Council is spearheading a procurement process titled "EDC/2025/4176 DAMP & MOULD SURVEY & MANAGEMENT," focusing on the provision of services in the housing and community amenities sector. The procurement is being conducted using an open procedure, allowing for electronic submissions, with significant dates including a tender period ending on 20th August 2025 and the commencement of the award period on the same day. Located in Kirkintilloch, the Council aims to establish a contract for addressing damp, mould, condensation, and ventilation issues in domestic and commercial properties. The procurement has been initiated under the legal basis of the EU Directive 2014/24/EU (2014L0024), with a contract value estimated at £219,000. The procurement is currently in the 'tender' stage, reflecting recent updates to accommodate annual leave over the holiday period.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in property maintenance and environmental surveys. Companies with expertise in damp and mould management, as well as those adept in the installation and management of air quality monitoring equipment, stand to benefit. The procurement process includes various technical requirements, such as certification from reputable bodies like the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Furthermore, there are prospects for contract variations and renewals, offering long-term engagement potential. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those focused on sub-contracting within housing services, are encouraged to apply, with added emphasis on community benefits such as employment opportunities, training, and diversity initiatives. Businesses that can offer innovative solutions for recurring environmental issues while engaging positively with the community will find this tender particularly advantageous.
