## Summary

The University of Aberdeen is planning a procurement process for the conversion of Revit models into CAD files, specifically to support their Estates & Facilities Management System. This tender falls under the education sector, with a focus on computer-aided design (CAD) and automation, classified under the CPV code 48000000 for software package and information systems. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a Prior Information Notice (PIN) published on 15th July 2025. The process is governed by the General Procurement Agreement (GPA), and the primary location for the delivery of services will be in Aberdeen, UKM50. Businesses interested in this opportunity should note the upcoming future notice date of 1st September 2025.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses in the CAD and automation sectors to expand their market presence by securing a contract with a reputable educational institution. Companies with expertise in producing CAD files from Revit models and those capable of providing innovative tools or models for improving building data management will be well-suited to compete. Furthermore, businesses that can offer flexible subscription-based services for data processing without fixed file volumes stand to gain from this contract. Engaging with the University of Aberdeen not only provides immediate business growth but also enhances professional credibility within the education and technology industry sectors.

## Notice

Potential Requirement We have an Estates & Facilities Management System, which offers up to date information for our users, however our main source of building data is maintained within Revit models. The management system is fundamentally based on using CAD drawings with data encoded into polylines/polygons, which allows it to extract the data and populate/update the management system database. We are looking at the market to see if there is potential to secure a company, in the area of computer-aided design (CAD) and ideally automation in this area, that will be able to: Produce CAD drawing files from Revit models, retaining and converting key data from the Revit model and applying them to data polylines/polygons within the CAD files. The CAD files will then go on to populate and update our Estates & Facilities management system Create a tool, process and/or model, that would (ideally) ultimately be owned by the university for future processing of these files and data. Alternatively, we may be open to discuss a cost-effective subscription-based model for the processing of these files to be done off-site and returned in a timely fashion, but this model would need to not be dependent on a number of guaranteed files per year as this would be something we could not commit to.
