## Summary

Fife Council is in the planning stage of a procurement process to establish a supplier list for adaptation, care, and repair works in privately owned properties referred by Fife Council Housing Services. This project involves major permanent adaptations, including the installation of wet floor shower areas, property extensions, kitchen adaptations, and the creation of level external access, all intended to serve the needs of residents across Fife. Taking place in the UKM72 region, this works project with an estimated value of £260,000, is currently in the planning phase. Interested contractors must submit their applications by 4th September 2025, 12:00. The procurement method involves tendering a list of approved contractors who will adhere to the SBCC terms and conditions. The criteria for acceptance include due diligence checks such as financial assessments and insurance verifications.

This procurement opportunity offers significant business growth potential, particularly for companies skilled in residential adaptations and those who specialise in working with local councils. Small to medium-sized enterprises, particularly those with experience in the construction industry, and those capable of meeting stringent due diligence and insurance requirements, would be well-suited to compete. The requirements for immediate emergency response capabilities and specific certifications such as NICEIC accreditation suggest substantial opportunities for businesses with both the technical ability and the flexibility to respond quickly to needs in the Fife area. As no VAT is chargeable on disability adaptations, businesses that understand these regulations will find additional financial benefits. Overall, this tender opens up a steady flow of projects aligned with public service goals, potentially leading to long-term contractual relationships.
