## Summary

The City of Edinburgh Council has implemented a Framework Agreement focused on providing natural stone products for roads and footways, specifically in Edinburgh and its nearby localities, which uphold World Heritage status. Spearheaded by an open procedure, this procurement initiative comprises three lots: Caithness Stone Paviors, Granite Setts, Kerbs, Channels and Tactile Paving, and Whinstone Recycling with new Whinstone Supplies. Suppliers were selected for a two-year term starting in 2026, with provisions for a two-year extension. Key players include Hardscape Products Ltd, BBS Brick and Stone, and Tradstocks Ltd as suppliers, with the total value of the contracts being £4,000,000. The framework started accepting electronic submissions on 22 September 2025, and awards were confirmed by 14 January 2026.

This tender represents a significant business opportunity for companies within the natural stone supply sector, particularly for SMEs focusing on high-quality, sustainable materials. Given the emphasis on matching existing materials to preserve historical status, suppliers with expertise in customised, quality stone solutions will find growth prospects through this framework. Companies adept in recycling materials and those suited to the environmental stipulations detailed in the tender requirements are especially well-placed to benefit. The procurement not only fosters potential business expansion but aligns with community values, encouraging environmentally conscious practices and broadening local economic engagement.
