## Summary

South Ayrshire Council is inviting tenders for the design, supply, and installation of a sprinkler system at the Heathfield Waste Recycling Centre, located at Old Farm Road, Heathfield Industrial Estate, Ayr, KA8 9ST. This procurement falls under the 'General public services' industry category. The process follows an open procurement method, allowing electronic submissions through the Public Contracts Scotland web portal. The tender is currently in the 'tender' stage and requires submissions by 1st September 2025 at 12:00 BST. The contract will be awarded starting from the same date, with the opportunity labelled as an 'active' status contract.

The tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in construction and installations, especially those experienced in sprinkler systems and associated structural works. It suits organisations adept in managing turnkey projects, including design, building permits, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The work demands that contractors accommodate the ongoing operations of the waste transfer station, which is active seven days a week, indicating a preference for firms with expertise in phased and out-of-hours work. Additionally, as this contract requires both price and quality considerations, businesses that can demonstrate high-calibre work alongside competitive pricing are encouraged to apply. Profitability can also be enhanced through community benefits integrated within the project, further appealing to businesses committed to social value.
