## Summary

Forestry and Land Scotland is initiating a planned market engagement as part of developing a Buildings Category Strategy. The process focuses on the procurement of building compliance services, with the aim of understanding the sector's landscape better. The market engagement is currently in the planning stage and targets the environmental protection industry, specifically within the services category. The procurement is geographically concentrated in the UKM region, with the contracting authority, Forestry and Land Scotland, headquartered in Inverness. Interested suppliers should note the deadline for submitting responses is by 5 PM on 25th August 2025, with further communication expected by 1st July 2026.

This market engagement presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in compliance services such as fire engineering, heating and ventilation maintenance, and ecological surveys, among others. Companies that specialise in ensuring safety, functionality, and legal compliance of buildings will find this engagement beneficial for business growth. Suppliers with expertise in servicing diverse building types, including visitor centres and storage facilities, are best suited to compete. This engagement allows firms to contribute to shaping the future procurement approach of Forestry and Land Scotland, potentially influencing contract structures and innovation opportunities.
