## Summary

The public procurement process described involves the University of Edinburgh as the buying organisation, engaging in the maintenance of Carrier water chillers. Specifically, the procurement falls under the education sector and has been conducted in Edinburgh, located in the UKM75 region. The process was initiated as a tender and has reached the award stage, with the contract having been signed on 17th July 2025, and set to remain active until 16th July 2030. The procurement method was limited, executed through an award without prior publication due to technical aspects requiring manufacturer-specific expertise, which only Toshiba Carrier UK Ltd can provide. The total value of the contract amounts to £523,600.

This tender presents business partnerships and growth opportunities, particularly for enterprises that possess unique, specialised capabilities in technical servicing, maintenance, and supply chain management. Businesses that are factory-trained and authorised, especially those aligned with manufacturer-specific equipment and software, could significantly benefit by establishing similar maintenance contracts in sectors requiring exact technical proficiencies. Organisations specialising in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems with a focus on proprietary technologies would be well-positioned to compete in niche markets demanding exclusive expertise akin to that required for maintaining Carrier chillers.
