## Summary

The recent procurement process undertaken by Glasgow City Council aimed to provide consultancy services for the development of the Linburn Academy in the West of Glasgow. This project falls under the industry category of general public services, specifically focusing on energy-efficient design solutions in line with Scottish Government LEIP funding energy requirements. The procurement process is in the award stage, with the contract being awarded to Architype Limited. The procurement was conducted using an open procedure, and the contract was signed on 30th August 2024, with an estimated value of £65,000. The location for the delivery of services is primarily within the region of Glasgow, UKM82.

This procurement offers substantial opportunities for businesses involved in sustainable and energy-efficient design consultancy. Firms with expertise in EnerPHit or Passivhaus standards can find significant business growth potentials through engagements with public sector initiatives like this. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), such as Architype Limited—an SME itself—demonstrated successful competition within this sector. Businesses specialising in innovative construction, refurbishment, and energy solutions would be particularly well-suited to take advantage of similar future tenders, paving the way for expansion and enhanced reputation in the public sector market.
