## Summary

The Common Services Agency, commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), has issued an open tender for the supply and maintenance of van refrigeration units for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS). The procurement process, identified as NP06025, is currently in the tender stage and pertains to the health industry category. The contract is focused on modifying six purchased Transit Custom 320 L2 H1 Trend Van vehicles to incorporate refrigerated compartments necessary for the transportation of blood components. This project is set in Edinburgh, with delivery to be made in Glasgow, highlighting a key infrastructure along the UKM82 region. Interested suppliers should submit electronic bids through the established public tender portal by 11:00 on 29th September 2025. The contract has an estimated value of £70,000, covering a period of 60 months, including the vital maintenance component.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in automotive refrigeration solutions, vehicle customisation, or related maintenance services. Companies meeting specific financial and technical criteria stand a chance to solidify their market presence by aligning with a major public health entity like NSS. Potential beneficiaries include firms with a demonstrated capability in producing temperature-controlled transport solutions and those possessing the necessary competence to maintain specialised equipment over extended periods. With the procurement method being open and requiring businesses to have a sound financial standing along with adequate experience in the sector, firms invested in growth through public sector contracts can leverage this opportunity to expand their portfolio and drive business growth.
