## Summary

The Marine Conservation Society, based in Edinburgh, is overseeing the Scottish Seascapes project, focusing on increasing the resilience of seagrass meadows around the Isle of Eigg. The project is part of the industry category of "Recreation, culture and religion" and involves the planning, purchase, and installation of Advanced Mooring Systems (AMS). The procurement process has progressed from planning to tender and is now at the award stage, with contracts signed as of 3 April 2026. The procurement method was conducted via an open procedure, ensuring transparency and broad competition. Strategic delivery locations have been identified, coupling community input with scientific surveys informed by previous related projects like ReMEDIES. Final design and implementation will incorporate guidance from local heritage trusts and project management specialists. The tender closed in November 2025 with contracts awarded shortly thereafter, marking continued progress in marine conservation efforts.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses with expertise in the design, manufacture, and installation of eco-friendly mooring systems. It is particularly suited for SMEs with experience in conservation projects, offering the potential for further assignments within similar environmental schemes. Interested suppliers are encouraged to demonstrate strong project management capabilities and a history of successful delivery in comparable contexts. Businesses can leverage this opportunity to build their portfolio in sustainable marine engineering, collaborating with local initiatives and contributing to community-led environmental resilience. The accelerated procedure underscores the demand for speedy, competent delivery, promising engaged suppliers an immediate foothold in the impactful conservation landscape.
