## Summary

SRUC, based in Edinburgh, embarked on a procurement process for a 'Website Upgrade' project, executing an open procedure method. The initiative aims to update SRUC's external website CMS, Umbraco, enhancing its performance and accessibility. This project forms part of SRUC’s efforts to improve cybersecurity, user experience, and meet net zero aspirations. The procurement process culminated in the contract award stage on 24 February 2026, with Codiance Limited from Cardiff being the chosen supplier, securing the contract valued at £290,000. The project falls under the services category, relating to 'Higher Education, Further Education, Research and Consultancy'. The procurement method was open, allowing for electronic submissions, with key deadlines for tender submissions ending on 16 December 2025.

This tender represents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in web development and cybersecurity solutions, particularly those with certifications such as Umbraco Gold or Platinum and ISO27001 accreditation. SMEs, like Codiance Limited, stand to gain by demonstrating their professional ability to enhance the CMS system while aligning with environmental sustainability goals. Companies equipped with strong digital capabilities and insurance cover can leverage this contract to demonstrate their expertise to other potential clients. The location specificity to Edinburgh provides a strategic advantage for local businesses but remains open to qualified entities across the UK, fostering regional economic growth through technology-centric services.
