## Summary

## Notice

North Ayrshire Council required a technical delivery partner for the Ayrshire 5G Innovation Region (5GIR) project extension which has secured a further 400k under the programme to be delivered. The contract commenced on 9th December 2025 with an end date of 30th April 2026.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

This requirement is for a technical delivery partner for the Ayrshire 5G Innovation Region (5GIR) project extension which has secured a further 400k under the programme to be delivered. This encompasses supporting ongoing project management support, facilitating knowledge transfer, monitoring the project against the agreed benefits realisation framework, and updating the final project reports at the end of the extension period and providing recommendations / advice regarding post-extension activities and robust sustainability plan. The partner will also coordinate with various stakeholders to monitor the benefits and lessons learnt of the installed 5G and other advanced wireless technology across sectors like manufacturing, aerospace, and tourism, aligning with Ayrshire's regional economic strategy.

### Procurement Information

FarrPoint remains integral for the 5GIR project's success, having been pivotal in the initial funding bid and subsequent project delivery and possessing a deep understanding of the project's deliverables and regional priorities. Their unique insights and technical expertise, acknowledged in the funding bid and throughout project delivery, make them the only supplier capable of meeting the project's specific requirements within the strict 6-month extension timeframe. Any change in supplier risks potential delays and impacts on ongoing project delivery. Given the urgent project and funder timelines, FarrPoint's immediate involvement is essential for timely execution of critical tasks, especially in monitoring implementation of use cases with stakeholders and measuring success - key deliverables of the grant agreement. Engaging a new supplier would incur significant start-up costs, learning curve expenses and require additional resource to be allocated from NAC and the wider project. FarrPoint's continued involvement avoids these unnecessary expenditures and reduces the risk of delays to the project extension or any increase in the costs submitted as part of the successful extension funding bid.
