To preserve and maintain the Energy from Waste facility in Aberdeen during transition from one contractor to another.

To preserve and maintain the Energy from Waste facility in Aberdeen during a period of shutdown whilst operation and maintenance services transfer from one contractor to another. No new waste deliveries will be accepted into the facility during the contract period.

### Procurement Information

Reg 33 (1)(c) - use of negotiation without prior publication, extreme urgency. Due to termination of the contract between the authority and and operating contractor, the NESS Energy from Waste Facility is currently closed. This alternative arrangement is strictly necessary and urgently required in order for the Authority to ensure the NESS Energy from Waste Facility is maintained and preserved while offline. These circumstances are extremely urgent, unforeseen and are in no way attributable to the contracting authority. The time limits for open procedure, restricted procedure or competitive procedure with negotiation could not be complied with.
