## Summary

Transport Scotland is inviting suitable contractors to participate in a procurement process concerning the A9 Dualling Delivery Framework Agreement, aimed at dualling key sections between Perth and Inverness. This process is particularly focused within the works industry category. The procurement stage is currently tendering following a tender update with an extension granted, pushing the submission deadline to 13 July 2026. The Framework Agreement consists of establishing a multi-supplier setup for designing and constructing upgraded dual carriageways, divided into two lots based on contract values. Contractors have the opportunity to tender for either or both lots without limitations on awards. Work involves upgrading sections of roads and constructing related infrastructure like bridges and junctions. Detailed information accompanies the supplementary document linked to the contract notice.

This tender presents significant potential for business growth, particularly for firms specialising in road and bridge construction within the infrastructure sector. The high value of the contract, estimated at £1.936 billion in total, offers lucrative prospects for experienced contractors capable of meeting stringent technical and financial criteria. Meeting the standards set forth in the UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and holding the necessary accreditations such as the National Highway Sector Scheme will be imperative. Firms with a strong track record of similar infrastructure projects will find this opportunity particularly well-suited to expand their portfolios and impact the environment, economic growth, and local communities positively. Additionally, there is an emphasis on incorporating small and medium-sized enterprises, which can potentially partake through subcontracting arrangements or partnerships under the framework.
