## Summary

The University of Edinburgh has successfully completed the procurement process for an extensive framework agreement covering asbestos works and services, encompassing surveying, analytical services, and removal across its Estate. This framework, using an open procedure for procurement, is divided into three lots: Lot 1 focuses on Asbestos Removal Works, while Lots 2 and 3 pertain to Surveying and Analytical Services for the Central & Med and Vets, as well as Kings Buildings & Accommodation Area, respectively. Key contract dates span an initial period from 22nd May 2026 to 21st May 2028, with two optional 1-year extensions, potentially extending its duration until 21st May 2030. This procurement, with contracts awarded to multiple suppliers, notably Rhodar Industrial Services Limited for Lot 1 and Tetra Tech Limited for Lots 2 and 3, took place in Edinburgh, with all delivery locations specified within the city.

This framework provides a promising opportunity for both large and SME businesses specialising in asbestos management and related services to participate in high-value and long-duration contracts. Suitable candidates would be those with proven expertise in asbestos removal, surveying, and analytics, equipped to comply with stringent health and safety standards. As the University seeks high-quality services with 80% emphasis on quality and 20% on price, businesses capable of demonstrating comprehensive credentials and competitive pricing will be strategically positioned to gain substantial experience and revenue growth, benefiting from potential contract renewals and access to the University's extensive Estate and subsidiary companies over several years.
