## Summary

The Aberdeenshire Council has recently completed the public procurement process for the Aberdeenshire Information and Advice Services contract. This procurement falls within the industry category of general public services, with a focus on debt and money advice, welfare rights, and income maximisation. Services are expected to facilitate timely, accurate, and impartial advice to all residents across Aberdeenshire. The process was executed using an open procedure and covered several areas including Banff and Buchan, Buchan, Formartine, Garioch, Kincardine and Mearns, and Marr. The contracts, valued at £780,000 in total, were signed on 1st April 2026, with the award stage concluded on 29th April 2026.

This tender offers substantial business growth opportunities for organisations specialising in advisory services, particularly those adept in social welfare and financial advice. Enterprises equipped to deliver robust outreach programs and employ innovative service delivery methods, such as telephone and digital platforms, would find this contract particularly beneficial. Businesses with expertise in volunteer training and support, consistent responsible advice, and those capable of strengthening community partnerships to address poverty and inequality are ideal candidates. The procurement process emphasised the importance of meeting Scottish Government performance management standards and accreditation schemes, presenting a distinct advantage for organisations committed to quality assurance and service delivery excellence.
