## Summary

East Renfrewshire Council has successfully concluded the procurement process for a contract titled "Advocacy Services for Looked After Children, Children with a Disability, Children in Child Protection Process" on behalf of the Health & Social Care Partnership. This contract is focused on providing independent professional advocacy services for children and young people in the region of East Renfrewshire, including those involved in the child protection process, those with disabilities, and young carers. The procurement followed an open procedure, with a contract awarded to "Who Cares? Scotland" on 8th June 2026. The contract, valued at £224,719.55, falls under the services category and is now in the active stage, with Paisley Shariff Court and Justice of the Peace acting as the review body.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses engaged in delivering similar advocacy and support services to vulnerable groups. Companies specializing in social services and advocacy, particularly those experienced in working with children in challenging situations, could see significant growth through engagements like these. The process was executed through an open procurement method, allowing broad participation, and underscores the value placed on quality and price criteria in selecting a service provider. SMEs with a track record in advocacy services, particularly within the UKM83 region, would have been well-positioned to compete, as evidenced by the successful bid from Who Cares? Scotland, a small to medium enterprise operating within this specialised sector.
