City Building Glasgow requires an edgeband machine for our RSBI factory. This will include supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and training on the new machine.

### Procurement Information

Purchase under business SO's. There is pressing need for this machine. The open procurement procedure was considered but the timelines for this route were too long in terms of the required delivery date. The proposed machine provides unique features that helps the visually impaired. These machines are the same as RSBi's current machinery therefore the familiarity for disabled employees is essential. The H&S aspects of these machines is critical in terms of our disabled workforce therefore having the same machines would be of considerable benefit and help ensure the safety of employees. RSBi employees are currently trained and know how to operate these types of machines. Alternative machines would need considerable retraining but would also add considerable confusion to the employees as they would need to try and understand two different types of machinery and operating instructions changing between both on a regular basis. RSBi believe this would cause significant difficulty to our employees leading to potential mistakes and potential H&S concerns.
