## Summary

The National Trust for Scotland is inviting tenders for the "Chest of Dee Archaeological Rescue Project," which requires archaeological excavation, recording, and reporting services. The project is located in the Edinburgh area (region UKM50) and falls under the Conservation and Heritage category. This procurement follows an open procedure, allowing for electronic submissions until 9th April 2026, with the award process commencing shortly thereafter. The contracting process is currently in the tender stage, with relevant documentation having been published on 9th March 2026. The overall contract is structured as a service procurement with a 90-day contract period, and participation is governed by predefined terms that do not allow for variant submissions. Potential suppliers should ensure their submissions are made in English and maintain validity for 90 days post-opening.

This tender presents excellent opportunities for businesses specialising in archaeological services, particularly those with expertise in site excavation and heritage conservation. Companies capable of formulating detailed excavation methodologies and producing comprehensive recording reports will find this contract well-suited to their capabilities. Additionally, suppliers who are experienced in facilitating volunteer participation in archaeological projects may possess a competitive edge, given the tender's provision to involve a small number of non-professional volunteers. The open nature of the procurement process further broadens participation, offering a gateway for businesses to expand their portfolio through collaboration with a prominent organisation like the National Trust for Scotland and contributing to the preservation of heritage sites.
