## Summary

The University of Strathclyde is currently in the planning stage for a procurement process related to the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of a Reliability Testing Kit. This initiative is driven by the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland's (NMIS) expansion into semiconductor advanced packaging with a focus on power electronics, radiofrequency, and photonics. The process is scheduled to publish a future notice on 21 April 2026, and the procurement is valued at £1,120,000, classified under CPV code 38000000. The project is located in Glasgow, within the region UKM82. Interested parties are encouraged to prepare for the tendering phase, which will be governed by the principles of the General Procurement Agreement (GPA) and legal basis CELEX 32014L0024.

This procurement offers significant business growth opportunities for firms specialising in the provision of environmental test equipment, particularly those with expertise in the semiconductor sector. Companies capable of delivering flexible and versatile test equipment compliant with automotive, aviation, and UK Defence standards such as AEC-Q100, AEC-Q101, AQG-324, RTCA DO-160, and DEF-STAN 00-35, will find this tender particularly rewarding. It is an excellent opportunity for suppliers who can offer competitive solutions in reliability testing and the efficient integration of these systems into NMIS’s expanding operations.

## Notice

National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) is in the process of expanding its manufacturing capability into the semiconductor advanced packaging area with specific focus on power electronics, radiofrequency and photonics. To support this expansion, NMIS intends to procure equipment that is flexible to support a wide variety of reliability testing for packaged devices. NMIS intends to purchase a suite of environmental test equipment to test packaged devices in a variety of ways including under temperature and humidity control and in the presence of bias voltages.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

NMIS is in the process of expanding its manufacturing into the semiconductor advanced packaging area with specific focus on power electronic, radiofrequency and photonics. To support this expansion, NMIS intends to procure equipment that can support a wide variety of reliability testing for packaged devices. The concept design for the facility includes provision of equipment that is sufficiently flexible to support a wide variety of reliability testing. The items procured will enable NMIS to conduct reliability testing of packaged devices to ensure that the manufactured goods meet the industry quality standards. The focus of this procurement process will be equipment for reliability testing capability along with any and all associated ancillaries required. The University is seeking a supplier to supply, deliver, install, and commission the equipment. In particular, NMIS seek equipment to carry out reliability testing on semiconductor discrete components and modules to the following Automotive, Aviation and UK Defence standards: - AEC-Q100 - AEC-Q101 - AQG-324 - RTCA DO-160 - DEF-STAN 00-35
