## Summary

North Lanarkshire Council is in the planning stage of a procurement process focused on the provision of estate-wide 1Gbps capable FTTP Broadband Services to its social housing sector. The procurement is categorized under the industry of works and targets the large-scale installation of full fibre (FTTP) infrastructure across North Lanarkshire. This initiative forms part of the Council's Digital North Lanarkshire programme, aiming to reduce digital exclusion and enhance digital services for approximately 36,000 social housing properties. The procurement process is currently engaging the market to gauge supplier capability and outlines a future notice date of 5 June 2026 for formal tenders. Interested parties are invited to submit a questionnaire response by 5pm on 30 April 2026, marking early engagement with this opportunity. The process is aligned with the Council's objectives to understand and refine supplier interactions before moving to the tender publication stage.

This procurement represents a significant opportunity for businesses experienced in telecommunications and infrastructure development to engage with a large-scale public project designed to bolster digital access. Companies that can provide lifecycle delivery of full fibre networks, including design, installation, and commissioning services, would be ideally positioned to benefit from this contract. Engaging in the market consultation phase allows businesses to influence the procurement strategy and align their capabilities with the Council's needs. Given the project's scale, it offers substantial growth potential for providers with expertise in high-capacity fibre installations, promising to strengthen their portfolio by contributing to digital infrastructure improvements in the North Lanarkshire Council area.
