## Summary

Quality Meat Scotland, a central purchasing body based in South Gyle, conducted an open procurement process for providing permit advisory support services to Scottish Pig Producers. This procurement, classified under 'Environmental protection', was part of a larger initiative to assist pig producers with compliance under the Environmental Authorisation (Scotland) Regulations. The procedure's open tender was active as of 20th March 2026, with submissions closing on 3rd April 2026 and the contract awarded on the 6th April 2026 to Johnson Allan Consulting Limited for a value of £53,000. The service period is scheduled from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2028, covering locations in Perth and Edinburgh, within the region designated as UKM.

This opportunity presents significant growth potential for businesses specialising in environmental regulatory services, especially for those SMEs well-versed in agricultural and environmental compliance. Companies with expertise in emissions reporting, regulatory liaison, and advisory support for large-scale pig operations are particularly suited to leverage such contracts. Collaborating with Quality Meat Scotland could further open avenues for engaging with industry stakeholders and partaking in critical agricultural policy development initiatives, thereby enhancing business portfolios through strategic partnerships and practical applications in environmental regulation. Potential applicants were encouraged to demonstrate their capacity to handle similar projects, ensuring a robust approach to deliver value-driven and strategic advisory services.
