## Summary

The procurement process led by Quality Meat Scotland aimed to award a contract for the provision of an on-farm production recording package and benchmarking system specifically for Scottish Pig Producers. As a central purchasing body, Quality Meat Scotland sought to foster a sustainable red meat industry within the region, UKM75, through an open procurement procedure. The procurement category was centred on services, with the tender focusing on agricultural needs, promising enhanced farm management capabilities for pig producers. Despite the open procedure approach, the procurement process for this tender, initiated on 20 March 2026, reached an unsuccessful conclusion. The package was expected to serve approximately fifty-five pig enterprises, providing them with detailed production recording tools and benchmarking data to improve productivity and align with sustainability targets.

This tender represented a significant growth opportunity for businesses specialising in agricultural software and farm management solutions, especially those with expertise in production recording and data analytics. Companies with innovative technology equipment and experience in the agricultural sector could leverage their capabilities to deliver bespoke services that address the unique needs of Scottish pig producers. Through the deployment and maintenance of sophisticated benchmarking systems, businesses could aid in enhancing productivity, profitability, and sustainability, thus carving out a niche in the agricultural services market. Collaboration with veterinary services by sharing production data would further strengthen the offering, ensuring comprehensive insights for farm productivity improvement.
