## Summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking to establish a Lift Maintenance and Installation Framework Agreement to manage and improve its extensive property portfolio, which includes multiple high-rise residential buildings throughout Edinburgh. Classified under the services category, this multi-lot framework encompasses lift and stairlift service and maintenance for the city’s east and west regions, as well as citywide lift and stairlift installation and maintenance. The procurement method is open, and the deadline for electronic submissions is set for 28th May 2026, with the tender having a total value of £12 million. This tender is currently in the tenderUpdate stage as of 8th April 2026, following an extension of the submission deadline by one day due to system delays.

This framework presents a significant business opportunity for companies specialising in lift and stairlift services, offering resilience and flexibility through the appointment of multiple contractors. Ideal candidates are those with a strong economic standing and technical expertise in delivering planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and component replacements, in accordance with legislative standards. Businesses that can demonstrate flexibility, safe working practices in occupied buildings, and a commitment to community benefits, such as SME sourcing and local engagement, will find this tender particularly advantageous for growth. The framework allows for potential extensions, offering stability and value over the long term for successful bidders.
