## Summary

West Dunbartonshire Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for providing annual MOT inspections and tests for Class IV, V, and VII Fleet vehicles under 3500 kg. This initiative falls under the 'General public services' industry category, with a specific focus on service provision within the region of West Dunbartonshire, UKM81. The procurement is expected to progress with the tendering stage commencing in August 2026 and the contract starting in October 2026. The total estimated contract value is £44,000 GBP. The council is actively seeking expressions of interest from local MOT centres, highlighting the importance of local engagement for both sustainability and economic impact purposes.

This tender offers a significant growth opportunity for businesses specialising in automotive services, particularly those capable of servicing fleet vehicles. Companies with established MOT test centres in or around Dumbarton and Clydebank would be in an advantageous position, especially if they possess the capacity, licensing, and capability to efficiently handle the Council's fleet requirements. By contributing to reduced vehicle travel and downtime, businesses can align themselves with the Council's sustainability goals, potentially securing either or both geographical lots. This opportunity can bolster local business profiles and expand their service contracts within the public sector.
