## Summary

South Lanarkshire Council has initiated an open tender process for the procurement of Adult Carers and Young Carers Support Services, aimed at delivering comprehensive and personalised support to carers in the South Lanarkshire region. The tender process is currently active, with a deadline for submissions set for 11th September 2026, and the award period due to commence on the same date. This contract is divided into separate lots for adult and young carers, with the procurement focusing on general public services in the UKM95 region. The Council seeks to enhance the wellbeing of carers through preventative approaches and support services, marking this as a significant opportunity for potential suppliers to engage with a regional authority. The total estimated contract value is approximately £5,725,000, with distinct budgets allocated to each lot.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities for service providers specialising in social care and community services. Organisations with a proven track record in delivering holistic, outcomes-focused support services that align with legislative standards, such as the Carers Act Scotland 2016, will find this an attractive opportunity. Businesses capable of offering tailored, innovative solutions to bolster carer support, including training and one-on-one counselling, are well-suited to vie for these contracts. Additionally, suppliers with robust community engagement models and the capacity to yield measurable community benefits will have a competitive edge, especially given the requirement for active participation in delivering Community Benefits points. The procurement method and criteria strongly favour those with experience in public sector contracts and a commitment to quality and sustainability in service delivery.
