## Summary

The procurement process is initiated by Dumfries and Galloway Council for a tender titled "Kerbside Fibres & Mixed Containers (Dumfries & Castle Douglas)" under the industry category of general public services. The tender is focused on managing waste streams by receiving, treating, and disposing of resources in line with the waste hierarchy. This open procedure process is currently in the tender stage, and the procurement concerns two primary waste streams, divided into lots for fibres and containers, located in Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway. The key deadline for submission is set for the 8th of July 2026 at 10:00 am, with the award period commencing on the same day.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses operating in waste management services. It is ideal for companies capable of handling paper fibres and mixed waste containers, as they can bid for one or multiple lots. The contract spans an initial duration of 2.5 years with an option to extend, providing substantial period for business growth. Enterprises with appropriate waste carrier licences and capacities for electronic submissions could leverage this opportunity to expand their operations in the regional waste management sector. The procurement prioritises a combination of quality and cost, with criteria focusing 40% on quality and 60% on price, thus attracting competitive and quality-driven service providers.
