## Summary

Argyll and Bute Council is facilitating a tender process for the demolition of an existing sailing club and the construction of a new facility in Kintyre, on behalf of Kintyre Seasports. This project is categorized under the industry classification for works, specifically focused on general public services, and is part of the Rural Growth Deal. The restricted procedure is being used for this selective procurement method, with electronic submissions accepted until 3rd August 2026. The selected contractor will take on comprehensive planning and management roles, including demolition, construction, and various civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical works, covering a waterfront site in Campbeltown.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in construction and architectural services to grow by engaging in a project that aims at boosting marine tourism and local economic development. Companies with expertise in sustainable and low-carbon construction practices will find this project particularly suited to their capabilities. In addition to direct construction opportunities, there are potential benefits for suppliers in the ancillary support services sector, such as those offering training, skills development, and materials supply needed for the construction phase. The project is designed not only to improve local infrastructure but also to enhance community engagement and participation in watersports activities.
