## Summary

Orkney Islands Council, acting as the planning authority, is seeking contractors to carry out planning enforcement works on an as-required basis across the Orkney Islands. The requirement supports enforcement action where buildings, structures, land or sites need to be brought into compliance with planning controls. It covers four service areas: demolition, alteration and replacement construction; work to existing built properties, including external materials, roofs, doors, windows, fencing and finishes; works to land, including roads, surfacing, drainage, groundworks, landscaping and planting; and site clearances involving vehicles, caravans, scrap metal, containers, refuse and construction or agricultural materials. A subcontracting clause also creates scope for specialist firms to participate through a main contractor.
