## Summary

The East Ayrshire Council has initiated an open procurement process for the project titled "PS/26/120 - Sheet Pile Wall Works at Kirkford Gabions, Stewarton." This project falls under the industry category of general public services, specifically focusing on works within the Kilmarnock region in Scotland (UKM93). The procurement process is at the tender stage, with submissions closing on 14th August 2026 at 12:00 PM. The project aims to implement essential remediation measures on a deteriorating gabion wall within Annick Water to prevent slope instability issues. Bidders must submit their applications electronically via the Public Tenders Scotland platform.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in structural and civil engineering, particularly those with experience in sheet piling works and riverbank reinforcement. Ideal competitors should demonstrate technical proficiency and have previously completed similar projects. The procurement includes strict suitability and economic criteria, including necessary qualifications under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, and financial requirements such as a minimum turnover of £700,000 annually. Additionally, the necessity for comprehensive insurance coverage highlights the scope and importance of the project. Businesses meeting these criteria can leverage this opportunity to grow their portfolio and establish themselves within the public services infrastructure sector.

## Notice

An existing gabion wall, retaining a slope and footpath above, within Annick Water is in a deteriorated state. If no remediate works in the form of scour protection are undertaken, this may lead to a slope stability issue of the greater slope. Ayrshire Roads Alliance (East Ayrshire Council), wish to prevent any further deterioration of this structure and prevent any slope stability issues from as a result of the failing wall. Thus interventional remediation measures are required to protect the bank and slope toe form further erosion.
