RSPB staff will provide a typical example of the trees which are to be harvested and which are to be left. The thinning should be done in a variable manner to help create a natural forest impression. To clear-fell 7 in 10 stems from 3ha worth of coops. RSPB staff will mark these areas and mark the trees which are to be left unfelled within them, in advance of work commencing. Any track work required prior to commencement of work is to be organised and paid for from the timber sales and managed by the Forest Works Manager in consultation with RSPB staff.
