## Summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is procuring a non-clinical Walk & Talk support service for young people aged 12 to 24 who live in Glasgow City. The service is intended for young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, isolation or other difficulties, particularly those disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education or the community. Staff members or trained volunteers will provide regular contact outside the young person’s home, helping them build confidence, reconnect with peers or services and move towards positive destinations. Referrals may come from health, education, social work, youth services, third-sector organisations or the young people themselves. Sessions will be arranged flexibly in local areas, with delivery potentially including evenings and weekends. The main category is health and social care services.

The buyer has reached the tender stage and invited offers through an open procedure, with electronic submission. Bids must be submitted by 15 September 2026 at 13:00 UTC. The contract is initially for five months, from November 2026 to March 2027, with an option to extend for up to three further 12-month periods on mutually agreed terms. The procurement has one lot, valued at £123,000 in total. The service is evaluated using the scoring methodology set out for the tender, with bidders required to complete a response form and provide experience information. English is the submission language. Electronic payment will be available and electronic invoicing is allowed.

This opportunity suits organisations experienced in short-term, community-based support for young people, including providers working with anxiety, low mood, isolation, disengagement from education or difficulties accessing services. Strong candidates will be able to offer reliable staff or trained volunteers, maintain regular one-to-one contact and develop practical pathways into education, health, social care, community or other positive destinations. Delivery requires the capacity to work across the Glasgow City area and to arrange sessions around individual circumstances, including some evenings and weekends, without an expectation of working beyond 8pm. Suppliers should be able to demonstrate relevant previous experience and provide evidence of how they will deliver proposed community benefits, including supporting procedures, staff responsibilities and management information.

## Notice

The aim of the service is to provide short-term, non-clinical support to young people who may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, isolation or other issues, and who may be disengaged from education and/or the community. Through regular contact with an identified staff member or trained volunteer, outside of their home, young people are supported over a number of weeks to gain confidence, re-engage with their peers or services, and work towards positive destinations. The service will provide or support pathways to appropriate positive destinations, for example through their own services or through partner services in the local area.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The service is open to young people aged 12-24 residing in the Glasgow City area. Referrals can be taken from a number of statutory services including CAMHS, Glasgow City Youth Health Service, Education, Social Work and Third Sector, as well as self-referral. The service will operate at times suitable for young people who are, or are at risk of being, disengaged. Therefore, there is flexibility in terms of arranging sessions with young people, on a case-by-case basis. It is likely that some sessions may require to be during evening and weekend hours. There is no expectation of working beyond 8pm. Young people are referred from across the Glasgow City area; therefore staff or volunteers will need to be able to travel to the young person's local area.. The contract will initially be for a period of five months (November 2026-March 2027) with an option to extend for a maximum of 3 x 12 months on mutually agreed terms and conditions.
