## Summary

NHS Lanarkshire is procuring the replacement of the infected-linen Continuous Batch Washer (CBW) line at the West of Scotland Laundry in Scotland. The requirement covers the goods and associated services needed to replace the laundry processing line, with the successful contractor becoming a key service partner for the life of the equipment. The procurement is primarily for industrial laundry machinery and related installation or support services, classified under CPV 42716000. The scope includes proposals for the laundry’s gas-dryer capacity: suppliers must price an option retaining four gas dryers and an option increasing the site to five dryers. The additional dryer is intended to increase throughput, support potential future demand and provide contingency. NHS Lanarkshire is the buying organisation and the work will be delivered at the West of Scotland Laundry.

The process reached tender: NHS Lanarkshire invited offers through an open procedure, with electronic submission. Bids were due by 21 September 2026 at 12:00 UTC, with public bid opening at the same time. The contract is valued at £1,700,000. The initial contract period is 2,040 days, with an option for NHS Lanarkshire to extend it by up to a further 60 months, in increments determined by the Board. Evaluation is based on overall quality and technical criteria weighted at 60%, and price weighted at 40%. Bids must be submitted in English and remain valid for 90 days after the deadline. Variants are not allowed. Tenderers must provide staff names and qualifications, and the procurement is covered by the Government Procurement Agreement.

This opportunity suits manufacturers, systems integrators and specialist contractors with experience supplying and supporting continuous batch washer lines or comparable industrial laundry equipment. The successful supplier will need to provide a complete replacement solution for an operational laundry environment, including the associated goods and services required for the equipment to perform throughout its life. Suppliers able to assess throughput, dryer capacity, future demand and operational contingency will be well placed to respond to both required gas-dryer options. The tender places greater emphasis on quality and technical performance than price, so bidders should be able to demonstrate a credible technical solution, suitably qualified delivery and support staff, and relevant examples of previous work. It may also suit larger businesses or consortiums able to act as a long-term key service partner.
