## Summary

The University of Dundee is procuring a fully funded electric vehicle charging infrastructure service for all University sites in Dundee. The requirement covers the supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of EV charging equipment and associated items. The contractor must provide cabling, ducting, containment and related civil works, including reinstatement of surfaces. The project is intended to replace ageing charge points that are outside their manufacturer’s warranty, improve efficiency, achieve cost savings and deliver continuing environmental benefits. The charging infrastructure must remain compliant with the back-office software previously provided by Charge Place Scotland. This is a services requirement, with the main classification covering maintenance and repair services for transport equipment and related infrastructure.

The procurement has reached tender: the University invited offers through an open procedure, with electronic submission. The single lot has an estimated value of £160,000, including the charging infrastructure service and associated works. The deadline for tenders and the scheduled bid opening were both 5 October 2026 at 12:00 UTC. The contract period is 7,200 days. Bids must remain valid until 28 September 2029. Evaluation is based on quality, weighted at 60%, and price, weighted at 40%. Variants are not allowed, and a document participation fee applies. The tender is covered by the Government Procurement Agreement. Electronic payment and ordering will be used, and electronic invoicing is allowed. Submissions must be in English.

This opportunity suits EV charging infrastructure providers able to deliver an end-to-end service across multiple University locations. Relevant suppliers will need capability in charger supply, electrical installation, cabling, ducting, containment, testing, commissioning, maintenance and associated civil engineering, including reinstatement of affected surfaces. Experience managing equipment beyond installation will be important because the requirement combines infrastructure delivery with ongoing maintenance. Suppliers should also be able to work with, and maintain compliance with, the Charge Place Scotland back-office software environment. The buyer requires bidders to provide the names and professional qualifications of staff assigned to the work, so a suitably qualified delivery and maintenance team is expected. Providers able to coordinate site works, technical systems and long-term support are best placed to compete.
