                "description": "The project involves the removal of the existing rotunda roof and parapet structure at DG1 Leisure Centre and the installation of a new roofing system designed to improve the long-term performance, structural integrity and weather resilience of the facility. The works will comprise the stripping of the existing roof construction, modifications and enhancements to the supporting structural steelwork, and the installation of a new single-ply roofing system. Associated internal works will include alterations to mechanical and electrical services, together with all necessary making-good and redecoration works arising from the construction activities. To facilitate the safe delivery of the project while maintaining the operation of the wider leisure centre, the contract will include a range of temporary works. These will comprise the design and installation of specialist scaffolding, temporary partitioning to separate construction and operational areas, and the procurement of all necessary permits and statutory approvals, including road opening permits where required. The project will be delivered under a Traditional Procurement Route using the SBCC/JCT Standard Building Contract with Quantities. The construction programme and phasing strategy will be developed and mutually agreed with all key stakeholders to minimise disruption to facility users and ensure the continued operation of the leisure centre out with the designated works areas.. Construction is currently anticipated to commence in Quarter 2 of 2027.",
