Summary of the contracting process

The University of Sunderland is currently conducting a tender for the procurement of Hydraulic and Pneumatic Training Rigs as part of the Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing (SAM) Project, a £5.1 million initiative aimed at supporting product and process development for SMEs in the North East of England. The procurement, classified under industrial machinery, includes two lots focusing on advanced hydraulics and pneumatics, and the tender period concludes on 28th August 2018. The resulting contract is expected to commence on 30th September 2018 and continue for two years, ending on 30th September 2020.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the manufacturing and engineering sector, particularly those that specialise in the design and provision of training equipment for hydraulic and pneumatic systems. SMEs are especially encouraged to participate, as the SAM Project aims to engage over 400 manufacturers in the region, fostering growth and innovation. Companies capable of delivering comprehensive training packages, alongside advanced technical resources, would be well-suited to compete for this contract, potentially leading to further collaborations within a developing market.
