Summary of the contracting process

The Birmingham City Council is seeking tenders for a call-off contract concerning the demolition and site clearance of various garages and similar structures in the Birmingham area for the period from 3rd April 2017 to 30th March 2018. The tender, titled "12780 - Call off Contract garages 2017 / 2018," falls under the industry category of demolition, site preparation, and clearance work. The tender period ends on 25th January 2017, and the estimated value for the works is approximately £150,000. This procurement is conducted via an open procedure, inviting organisations to demonstrate their compliance with health and safety legislation and the Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility.

This tender presents significant business opportunities for contractors specialised in demolition and asbestos removal services, particularly those with robust experience in compliance and safety management. Companies that can demonstrate financial stability, hold valid HSE asbestos licenses, and provide a trained workforce will be well-suited to compete. The arrangement may involve variable workloads, as the Council cannot guarantee a specific volume of work, but the potential for ongoing contracts and partnerships with the Council makes this an appealing opportunity for established firms in the construction and demolition sectors.
