Notice Title

Procurement of an Overcoater

Notice Description

NNL require equipment capable of producing a consistent 100 micrometer thick graphite coating onto spherical fuel kernels. The process is expected to utilise fluidised bed technology with spray powder coating. It is expected that a wetting agent and liquid polymer binder will need to be applied for the graphite powder to adhere to the surface of the kernels. Uniformity of the coating is important so consideration should be given to how this can be achieved. The equipment should be capable of drying the coated kernels once the process is complete.
