Notice Description

Doncaster Borough Council is seeking to recommission and develop its Supported Lodgings and Floating Support Service for 16 to 25 year olds. The contract will be for an initial period of two years with 2 x 12 month extensions. The maximum annual financial envelope to deliver this service is PS160,000. The successful Contractor will recruit, train and support a number of Hosts who offer a spare bedroom in their home to a young person. There is a requirement to ensure the required number of hosts are on line and available to accept placements within the first 6 months of the contract. Hosts will provide a safe, empathetic and nurturing environment for a young person. Hosts will support the development of independent living skills to ensure the young person successfully moves on to living in their own tenancy and achieve life aspriations. These may include; accessing education, starting or maintaining paid work and ensuring positive links with friends/ peers/family members and contributing positively to their community. The service will also provide Floating Support to Clients who are leaving Supported Lodgings and requiring ongoing support to set up and maintain their tenancy as well as those who are already living in other tenancy arrangements but need housing-related support to maintain their accommodation. This could include young people who are living with friends/family or sofa surfing but need support to establish, set up and maintain alternative arrangements.
